Description whew! that was a lot of work!

sort of a commission. it was a service auction for a relief society activity. so i put her as a gift because the winner had her designed for someone else's new baby, Emerson. she was special to work on being that the winner had to have performed quite a bit of service to gain the points to spend on a full commission. and then to have it all given away to an equally deserving friend. this story really touches my heart.

started life as a blue peg, lovingly airbrushed in antique white with a blue patch actually done in lace in the place of her cutie mark, by colorscapesart

i started with her pole and bridle and went from there. it wasn't always easy and i didn't always have a clean plan, but she came out.

the blue detail of the cutie mark is hand painted by me and copied from the cover of a very special book "daughters in my kingdom" which my church has graciously handed out. i felt since the mother-to-be was expecting a girl it would be a nice touch. the little "E" on the hoof is similarly styled to match but in a vintage gold tone paint. everything i painted was a hand mix of colors except the vintage gold.

the many ribbon roses were hand made by me even before i had the pony! and the hair is 100% saran hair from restoredoll.com (i love kathy!) in 5 lovely baby colors matching all 5 colors of roses. there are many on the saddle, 5 at the top of the pole, and 3 in her hair which was carefully twisted and pinned for a simple style. i really tried to have all the tiny detailed well fleshed out, without overloading the pony.

i hope she is loved in her new home and i hope you enjoy seeing her

Oh, what a beauty! I'm sure whoever owns her now, is loving her like mad. All those little details.... she is amazing!

yes they do seem quite happy with her. it's hard taking RL complements about it because i'm not always open about my art IRL. just cause none of them do it so it's hard to explain how absolutely easy it actually is. well, for me, but i am a bit practiced.

i need some help, and you seem to know what your doing. (as shown in this amazing looking pony)
how do you make the added features on it like the flowers and the saddle, what do you use, how do you get it on there?

the flowers are ribbon roses i made by hand, has an awesome tutorial on her website, the saddle and other sculpted parts are apoxie sculpt. the cloth frilly saddle blanket was sculpted on then removed for painting, and glued back on. everything else is just sculpted on the pony as it and then painted. her pole is a dowel rod gotten at a craft store. it's really simple to google tutorials about customizing ponies and other toys. it is, no lie, how i learned. well aside from 7 years of practice...
