elley is a custom i have made for my boyfriend's mother for christmas i may get to give her on the 13th which would be fine by me cause i hate waiting to give (but i can always wait to get, strange, ne?)

elley is named for an old friend of mine from my highschool years. there is a good reason for this- when trying to think up a name, my best friend asahi-chan, kept coming up with some awfully cliche names. just thinking the word cliche brings elley to mind because she wrote a poem called "the endless cliche" so she has been named in honor of the mistress of cliche's, mis elley, elle belle, or whatever i choose to call her on whatever day. altho we have grown far far apart, she is very dear to me in my memories.

aside from the mushy crap- this is the first time i've re-haired using nylon hair from dollyhair.com. it's nice, i like the color selection. the saran hair from both restoredoll and dollyhair just doesn't match the amazing amount of different shades available in nylon. mind you i still love restoredoll, and for all my saran needs i will continue to order from her. and believe me there is no way nylon will replace everything i need.

next on the list her snowman is made from sculpey, baked and then painted. after that dried i coated it in some modpodge to be followed by glitter. white is the only shade of glitter used, but for his coal eyes and buttons i painted the glitter black. next the snowmans snow and accessories was sealed with matte modpodge and his coal with gloss.

he felt lonely tho, just sitting on the hip of this blue pony. so i went ahead and gave him some snow to sit on. done in the same way as his own glitter except that i did two coats to add some more thickness.

everything is repainted with craft acrylics and the hair is 2 blends, one is arctic frost/blizzard and the other is virgin snow/marshmallow. the hair clip i glittered myself as it was originally yellow (yuck on a blue pony!)

so here she is, elley. if carla wants to rename her that is fine, but for now and always in my heart she is elley.
