[EDIT 8-15-2008] zuko's new pics with quality swords!!! lol.. his first set came to their demise at the hands of one of my chldren. not sure which one anymore but it doesn't matter cause these are better anyway
the first set was made with only one layer of wire mesh, these with 4. the handles are also more like those in the show. also i had to remake the baldric and now instead of wire mesh (which iw as afraid of it scratching them) it is not nice soft felt. well the parts that got painted aren't soft, but it's nice and cozy inside where the swords are. nice and safe. and cozy. lol. enjoy the new pics!sokka- [link]

i've actually had to remake his swords. that first set only had one layer of wire mesh. nothing against my kids. i believe it was my 4yo carol who was their last straw. but the new ones are better and closer to the cartoon. next is a new baldric. i think this time i'll use felt. i was so afraid of the mesh harming the paint on the last set. i'll just avoid it this time, lol

i use a mix of ultra light sculpy and regular sculpy. all ponies are baked at 275 degrees for about 15 minutes.
the ultra light is great for getting it to flow like clothing.

very to say the least. katara has slowed down because of vacation but mayb by the weekend i can have her up!

soon soon soon. i wanted her out this past sunday but her paint touch ups were more than just here or there. but she is finally varnished and so when my kids go to their fathers tonight i can start putting her hair in. i'm very excited as well. thanks for your support and enthusiasm

the swords and the baldric are made of wire mesh covered in sculpy. they doe come out but they are not very strong. i don't encourage any play with them. also the in side of the baldric is covered in plastic wrap to protect the paint on the swords.
yeh his eyes are gold. they were very pretty to work with, but my gold needs about 50 layers to become effective. otherwise he'd have been posted a week ago
