Description
Ultraman from DC's Earth-3, the DC version of the Mirror Universe, and this guy is that world's version of Superman, as well as the leader of the Crime Syndicate, the evil Earth-3 counterpart to the Justice League. Much like my picture with Superwoman , this interpretation is a mixture of the different costumes rolled into one, taking inspiration from the animated "Crisis on Two Earths" movie, the Grant Morrison-penned "JLA: Earth 2" graphic novel, and the post-Rebirth version.

In the pre-Crisis and New 52 versions, like the regular Superman, Ultraman was from his universe's version of Krypton, but instead of being weakened by Kryptonite, it actually empowered him, and he was weakened by yellow sunlight.

In "JLA: Earth 2", featuring an antimatter universe version of the Crime Syndicate, Ultraman actually originates from Earth and got his powers after going to Krypton. A substance called Anti-Kryptonite empowered him, and he required it on his person in order to maintain his power, while regular Kryptonite has no effect on him.

It's also worth noting that the antimatter Ultraman is unhappily married to his Crime Syndicate teammate Superwoman, since their alter egos were Clark Kent and Lois Lane respectively. They had a child together, but Superwoman maintains a periodic affair with fellow teammate Owlman, much to Ultraman's frustration. He usually fires his heat vision beams in between the two as a warning whenever they start to flirt, but undisclosed photographic blackmail material in Owlman's possession keeps Ultraman from doing anything permanent to him.

For my own take, I'm not sure which version of his backstory I lean towards. Still, I'm okay with this evil Superman since, by default, as an AU version of Supes, he's not the main one.
