Description Born in 155 AD, courtesy name is Mengde. Cao Cao was a prominent warlord and statesman during the late Eastern Han Dynasty and the three kingdoms period of China. He is best known for his military exploits, political cunning and central role in the power struggles that led the collapse of the Han Dynasty and the subsequent of the three kingdoms. Cao Cao was a skilled strategist and tactician who employed innovative military tactics and organization to achieve victory on battlefield. He established a centralized administration and promoted economic development in the territories under his control. Cao Cao engaged in numerous military campaigns against rival warlords including Yuan Shao, Liu Bei and Sun Quan as he pursed his vision of unification. In 220 AD, Cao Cao died at the age of 65 due to illness.
