Description
Art Nouveau is one of my favorite styles but I've never managed to do something in the style, primarily because I can't do clean swirly lines. However, echo-x's gallery pushed me to take a stab at it. Mucha's work in particular had a lot of influence on this layout.I did this lineart a year ago for Gemkat5's Curse of the Labyrinth. I adore owl-trapped Jareth in the beginning, then the role reversal where Jareth becomes human and Sarah controls his magic. I wanted to draw this Sarah in particular because she's almost uncontrollably powerful but not necessarily whimsical or unrealistic. This is the Goblin Queen that I would imagine.

Also, Sarah's Grand Re-entry, a comic by Aiijuin, heavily influenced this version of Sarah (claws!) as well as the title.

There's also a subtle Star Wars influence...Padme Amidala's wardrobe is to die for...

I love it! The art nouveau feeling - I've seen one or two there Labyrinth fanarts in this style before, and it really works! If only Sarah would become the Goblin Queen, I hoped it would happen somehow in the manga sequel but I was sorely disappointed!

The first time I saw Labyrinth and Art Nouveau together was in janey-jane's Nouveau Labyrinth Poster and I fell instantly in love. I also believe that the Labyrinth fandom lives so strongly because it has never reached a satisfying official end-point; therefore it's the duty of the fandom to bring it there! I love the comic artists and authors who continue to push it forward.

This took my breath away! I am honored that my story was an influence for such a remarkable piece of art! I love the colors and the detail is amazing. I think you captured Sarah perfectly when she first obtained her powers in The Curse of the Labyrinth. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this beautiful art work. If you don't mind I'm going to copy this and save it as a memento. (with your name on it of course!) You have inspired me to raise this fic from the ashes and work on its conclusion! <3

Mission accomplished -- I've always joked that I'm here to make authors update The Curse of the Labyrinth has been one of my very favorite stories so I would be extremely excited to see its conclusion. On saving the pic, I might go through some minor edits because her arms seem a bit long, but after final exams @.@ I'll let you know if anything changes!

I'm so glad that my comic was your source of inspiration.
