Description
The demon laughed as Ragnar coughed up his own blood, clawing at the blade that pierced through his chest. He pushed himself up onto his hands and knees, shaking in pain but still trying to inch towards his sword that was tossed over on the other side of the demon. The determination on this human, or was it stubbornness? He was bleeding a puddle on the ground and he was still trying to fight.

"Give up, Ragnar," The demon knocked Ragnar over with his foot, causing the human to scream in pain only to choke on his own blood. "The village is destroyed and your friends will soon follow. Not that they really matter. It's you that he wanted but all the other souls here are a good plus. Funny how you're the last piece to eternal power and yet you gave yourself over so easily. I guess being the legendary monster hunter doesn't seem to have 'demons' in his job description, huh?"

The demon then went on to laugh again, watching Ragnar squirm and struggle to stay alive. Everything was blurry and the smoke from the fires were making it hard for him to breath in addition to the sword through his chest.

"Say hi to the God of Death for me, Ragnar~" The demon grinned and kicked Ragnar in the gut again before walking away.

This was it.
This was how he will die.
A failure of a hero that won't get any post battle party but instead will bleed out alone on the ground.

'Please let Jackal get to safety,' Ragnar begged as the world around him started to grow dark, 'and Nagisa, and all the pretty girls on board that airship. Osric... man, I'm so sorry for everything I said to you. At least you had your life together... damn, Serena's going to freak out after she hears the news...' He forced a bitter smile as he stared off into the distance. The sounds around him were all muddled and he was getting more and more tired.

'Sh-shit... I can't feel anything... Well, I guess I'll save my apologies for when I get to meet you again, eh, Osric?'

Ragnar closed his eyes and let out his final breath.

'...Wait for me...'

Also fun fact, that last "thought" was not Ragnar's. I just cut the story there to talk about later ;D
