  "You're staring," Arias commented, not having to look back to see those crimson eyes on him. He was getting his weekly exercise routine in when Xenox decided to drop in and watch. Well, not Xenox exactly, he doesn't stare so intently and critically. It was Barry. Arias stopped dancing and swiped his hand in the air to stop the music playing. He turned around to face Barry, crossing his arms, "what? You think you can dance better than me, parasite?"

  Barry grinned, showcasing his sharp, dagger like teeth. "Well, we certainly don't have the grace that you do, angel, but with a change in song, we bet we can beat you in a dance off."

Arias snorted and gestured towards the music player, "be my guest."

Barry stood up and walked over to the player. Within a few minutes, he picked a song and hit play. A high energy song. Arias raised an eyebrow, these parasites can't control Xenox's body for a long time on their own, there is no way they can pull off dancing to this song without collapsing in exhaustion in the middle. Barry knew that, but it was a challenge he took. Arias stood off to the side and watched.

The first few seconds, Barry just stood in the center of the dance floor, getting the beat and thinking his moves through, his eyes closed and concentrating. Then the beat dropped and he jumped into motion. In the beginning, there was a struggle in movement, which was expected. This was no slow song and strong dance moves were necessary to make the dance effective, which was something the parasites are not used to performing on their own. However, Barry caught on super quick. His movements matched the beat 40 seconds in and was even pulling off back flips with little to no stumble.

Arias watched in awe. He found himself biting the side of his finger as he watched, feeling a bit hot from the energy in the room. His heart was beating faster and his feet was tapping to the song. For a second, Barry whipped his head towards Arias and blew him a kiss before resuming his dance. Arias's face flushed a bit.

  'Familiar,' Arias's mind whispered to him. The doctor kept chewing on his finger. 'This is familiar... but how?'

In my world, dancing is something angels have to know how to do well. It's the way men attract the girls. It's also the men's chance to flaunt their wings in an attractive display to show how healthy and handsome they are. White wings = sexy. Black wings, one wing or no wings = disgusting. Everything else in between depends on the skill of the dancer.

In this story, Arias is the "woman" observing Barry. Needless to say, he was very impressed even with Barry's lack of wings. It's mostly because Xenox had already won over his heart at this time so that was a boosting factor to the dance.
