Also last I check you really can't fire a intern for making a simple mistake like this, I mean that's why their interns as their there to learn how to pick up the ropes of the business there going into. Sides just look at the silver lining that A you can make a joke saying the intern made a mistake and B this can help liven up the performance meeting a little.
