The two glass buildings in front are the Gardens by the Bay conservatories - they're not really greenhouses... they're more of the opposite, really. The weather here is too hot, so instead of being meant to trap heat, they're basically cooled environments so that certain plants not native to the region can survive better.

Hello, yes you're right the term is inadequate. I indeed knew about these new gardens, which weren't complete when I left Singapore.

Anyway, i find they soften somewhat the view on the big casino building behind.
