Yeah photoshop is kind weird for filling in. I doubt we can download Corel Painter 7 at school, but if you can on you pc at home I have read good things and seen good things come from that program so you might want to try it out. [link]

Drawing the same character more than once is a good thing though

Here's my crit:

First off, the left side of his head caves in a bit (there's hair there, so it's even more unlikely). And his ear would probably be showing.

Second, his neck is fairly large, but his shoulders aren't very broad, which makes him look somewhat strange. Try to either broaden his shoulders or thin his neck (I'd go for broadening his shoulders because his face makes him look like a rather muscular fellow).

Third, his arms look like they're in a very static pose, it's rather unnatural (mostly his right arm). This, I think, is caused by the fact that his chest line is very far from his arm in this perspective. (I know.. bad explanation -_- and I have no reference pic either.)

That's about it I guess.

Suggestion: (1) Clean up your pic. Those smudges and little dotty things in the background are very unattractive. (2) Draw a background. Your character looks somewhat lost in that white smudgy background.

Keep practicing, and keep it up!

yeah right after I downloaded the pic I realized something was wrong... I do have a hard time with the head shape, and I have an awful time with shoulders and arms. I need to practice a whole lot more >.<

Also, with the ears... he's not entirely human so he doesnt really have any ears... and the reason why one eye is shut tight is because he has a freaky-looking mutant eye... he doesn't want others to know he's not entirely human. I guess I should get that message across more clearly :/

Anyways, thanks for the critique. I have a looong ways to go before my stuff starts to look proffessional

Don't worry, I didn't say anything about the eye It was done rather well.

And another thing I just noticed. Your pic is really huge (2779*3101 pixels and 860KB! O_O). You might want to resize it, it'll make it more welcoming to people with a smaller screen resolution and a slower internet connection.

lol I knew there was something wrong with the size but I was just too lazy Oh yeah... I went to your Deviantart page... you're just like me except cooler in every way possible o_o same interests and everything! My guess is that you have been drawing things like that for a very long time. I started drawing anime-ish stuff about 2 or 3 years ago
You rock and you are my new hero ^^ lol

Ah, thanks I'm rather flattered. And uh.. I've been drawing for some time now.. Um, about 9 years to be more precise (started getting really serious about it maybe 5-7 years ago though).

I guess you really gotta look around you and draw from life! Someone once said 'If you can draw from life, you can draw anything' or something like that XD
