I was thinking about it and those number might be used by a painter in order to set up a mural. Next time I 'm in center city I'll have to check it out.

i love this! i can't understand it at all and that just makes me love it more!
it's an abstract image obtained with a photojournalistic approach. the numbers would appear to be floors but they're far too short to be... the guys look like window washers but there are no windows to wash... the symmetry in the two bricked up windows to the left is perfect but they also add a further sense of the surreal to the image... as does the middle window with its white blind and three little white squares of god knows what... the texture in the uneven brickwork is beautiful... the stark contrast of black and white (yin and yang) between the two buildings adds a further sense of mystery and balance.
there's probably a simple explanation for it all but i love how it makes you stop and pay attention.
