Description
An incomplete sketch of one of my characters. Besides the scars and the ensemble, this is entirely unlike how I envisioned her. Not to mention all the technical errors with the face that I have to go back and fix.I'll finish this one and do another drawing of her, one closer to the vision I have of her in my head.
Done with mechanical pencil.

She is utterly creepy. What an odd looking pencil style. I admit to being very ignorant to traditional art rendering techniques, but still...

I've been trying out new pencil styles lately. And yeah, I really do need more color work. I don't believe I have enough of it to round out my portfolio It's just that working in color gives my brain the runs. Rough stuff.

You definitely did a good job on the scars...there is this mentally ill homeless woman who I see sometimes around the el train station whose eyes her eyes remind me of....vacant....with old pain....and at once intense

The apparent flow you have with a pencil is something to be envied... this is like looking at the paths where the Muse is working through you. Very cool.

It's official: I'm marrying my mechanical pencils. I don't think I'll be shelling out a buck a piece for those fancy art pencils anymore.

You need to stop being so damn awesome! I can see it from your point of view, how it "doesn't look like the character you had in mind" (because I say the same thing alot, too!), but even despite that it is a very intriguing work. I love mask pictures, and the composition of this one is really cool!

Thanks for the encouragement! This was my first serious attempt at an original character. It's hard for me to take what I see in my head and draw it exactly as I see it, but hey, practice makes perfect.
And yes, masks are awesome. AWESOME, I tell you!

Yeah, I wanted her to have this kind of crazed, battle-hardened look. I'm just having trouble with the placement of the eyes. And everything else, for that matter . . .
