What is this?---------------
Plank Themer is a small application that allows you to change the themes in Plank with one click.
It adds a dock entry in your Plank Dock and allows you to select the themes directly from there.
Additionally I'm mantaining a repository with the latest and best themes made for Plank.
So...

Then Plank-Themer is your thing. One click, new look.

BUT! Is not that already in settings~Elementary-tweaks?
Yes... but *NO*. You can change the themes from elementary-tweaks, yes, but it is really unefficient. It takes you 1) open settings 2) open e-tweaks 3a) Scroll down 3b) click on themes 4) select your theme (also scrolling). 5) in the mean time, this process eat your time, your patience and SPECIALLY your memory and resources.
This is an *on-dock approach*. That means that is a dock entry. On sight. Completely integrated with Plank. One click. No intermediate steps. No time spent. No process in background. No resources involved. And you can change the theme houndried times with an impressive responsive result. Even after using your theme 10 mins... you want to change it back? one click. From all points of comparison, it is a better approach than elemematry tweaks. Nothing against, of course, but the motivation of building it (and using it) is crystal clear. If you like to often change your Plank look, this is your stuff.

You'll have to change the system icon theme. find a tut for your distribution. is fairly easy tho just find a nice theme here: www.deviantart.com/customizati… and extract to /home/username/.icons and select using the menu settings provided by the distro/de you're using.

Thanks a lot for this app ! Not only does it improve the experience for Elementary users (Like me on my old Laptop), but it also makes it infinitely better for Ubuntu Users !
No more config file editing in order to change themes, it makes it ultra easy ! So huge thank you for what you did !
But would it be possible to make it work without the icon being permanently pinned in Plank? Like lauching the utility from the Unity Dash, or something... I use an icon pack and I like everything to fit on my dock, and unfortunately I don't have a fitting icon for your amazing app... And since I don't change Plank Themes that often...
However, that would just be the icing on an already delicious cake, I really can't thank you enough !

yes. first, thanks for your kind words.
Now. I'm preparing an update. It goes in the direction you mention. Including an app icon mean to dev the app, which is a possibility. Another way that fits better the original idea is to make the same thing without the extra icon. How? ... well, making use of Plank icon! that is USELESS untill now. That's the idea.
Till now I were focused on "SHow your desktop", probably you may want to take a look to this app too. It is the same concept of plank themer, but for screenshots to be shared online.

Very nice, and thanks for not just making an Ubuntu PPA, but making it work for every distro (people tend to do that nowadays, and it's kinda annoying, when you don't actually use Ubuntu).

Esa es la idea!... cómo puede ser que plank siendo tan simple y minimalista no haya siquiera branistormeado sobre estas cosas.
La aproximación es que efectivamente se le pueden agregar más funciones a plank, de una forma mucho más amigable, sin necesariamente comer ni un sólo Kb de memoria adicional! Estoy viendo cómo configurar el posicionamiento, aunque posiblemente la próxima versión elija reemplazar el ícono de plank, que no sirve para nada
