I have already Jailbroken my ipod touch 4g and ready to ssh, but I have no idea how to install this.
This is my first iDevice.

Ok, I got this to work on my iPhone 4 running 4.2.1 - here's what to do.
First, remove the folder from your phone then re-download the LS file.
Add a wallpaper to the folder as a .PNG (640x960) and name it "LockBackground", so it should read "LockBackground.png".
Next, you'll have to mod the HTML a little.
1) Remove the following line - background:url('file:///private/var/mobile/Library/SpringBoard/LockBackground.jpg');
2) In the HTML, under the "" section, add the following:

It should look like this - [link]
3) Save the HTML, SSH back into the phone and respring.
End result - [link] This is what worked for me... not sure if it's the right way or not, but it did work.

It's called leafz2.png and is part of a larger image called zeka8.jpg. This collection is linked earlier in the thread. The older Blink.zip file had the image included and now it is no longer. Google for this:Z_E_K_A_wallpaper_pack_by_requestedRerun and you should be able to find it. or send me your email and I'll send you the original, plus on similar that I used.

I hate when I make a minor mistake that causes me to go back and fix my comments!!! To bad there is no edit function that I am aware of.
There was an errant comment code in the html file that I corrected. This new link has the corrected code and will be stellar!: [link]

I found a fix if you are on 4.2.1. You no longer need to scp or ftp the background file that you want to the Blink LS theme folder. All you have to do is edit the LockBackground.html file.
Search for "background:url ('filename.jpg'); In my html file it is on line 13.
Replace the filename.jpg in the quotes with this: /private/var/mobile/Library/SpringBoard/LockBackgroundThumbnail.jpg.
The new line will look like this: background:url('/private/var/mobile/Library/SpringBoard/LockBackgroundThumbnail.jpg');
Now, when you change your background wallpaper in the Photos app, all you need to do is respring your phone and the new lockscreen will be there.
Have fun!

Love love love it, simple, yet elegant. Only thing I don't like is how the bar (don't know its exact name, but the one with the wifi/carrier buttons on it) is transparent. Doesn't look good, when you use a gray (or anything light) background.
What line of code should I alter to change it to being the black bar it is on default?

First, thanks for the great graphics and layout. I installed it with no issues, once I understood what to do. The only issue that I am having with this theme is that the lock screen doesn't follow the iphone 4 settings for autolock. Example iphone settings for autolock is 5 minutes. With display off, and then press home button, the lock screen appears, and then the display will power down after 30 seconds. Why is it doing this and what can i do to have the lock screen follow the auto lock settings?
i am running iphone 4 on ios 4.1.
TIA,
Shawn

KennnyF1 [2011-01-22 18:37:31 +0000 UTC]
awesome theme!
i also fixed the background problem on iOS 4.2.1
here's a little tutorial:
Paste your custom wallpaper into the blink folder. the wallpaper must be in the same folder like lockbackground.html
Fix lockbackground.html. open the file with editor and fix the source of the wallpaper. it should look like this:
body {
background:url('***name_of_your_wallpaper***.jpg');
background-size:320px 480px;
no long path, only the name & data ending.
Copy the hole Blink folder in /Library/Themes with SSH.
enjoy!

shawnhank In reply to KennnyF1 [2011-02-09 22:31:48 +0000 UTC]
replace your background:url string with this: background:url('/private/var/mobile/Library/SpringBoard/LockBackgroundThumbnail.jpg');
and you won't have to paste your wallpaper into the blink folder any more. just pick from the photos app and set the lockscreen.
Note this will only work with ios4.2.1 as they changed some things around in the new code.

I set it to only update every 30 seconds so as to not waste power, but when you load it after not using it for a while, it may keep the old time for 30 seconds. You can change the update interval in the javascript

How do you activate the 12 Hour AM/PM mode? I'm on older iPhone 2G 3.1.2...

rhyguy In reply to Son1ze [2011-01-19 08:15:55 +0000 UTC]
I'm not sure if it will work on ios 3, but you just have to open up the html file with notepad (or another text editor) and change where it says 12hour from false to true

Thanks man. Great theme! Have gotten the 12 hr set now...
Only two other things...
First is that I couldn't get lock slider arrow to appear at the bottom of the lock screen some reason. Just an invisible slider there... The file names are the same so I'm not sure what's the problem. Anything I can mod in the html file to get this to work?
Second is getting the lockscreen background to apply... Have tried putting the following in the the theme folder with no effect... bg.png, bg.jpg, LockBackground.png and LockBackground.jpg. Any ideas?
Thanks for any help you can give.

rhyguy In reply to Son1ze [2011-01-20 02:29:35 +0000 UTC]
I think you may have to edit the bottombarknobgray.png files somehow, but i myself are not exactly sure, so it would be best to get a lock image from a 3.1.2 theme and copy it into that.
For the wallpaper, open up the html file and see what it says. A version i accidentally uploaded had LockBackgroundPortrait.jpg, so you should change that key to LockBackground.jpg and it should work.

Son1ze In reply to rhyguy [2011-01-20 20:47:16 +0000 UTC]
Cool man. Appreciate your advice.. Got everything to work now to relatively smooth degree... Now just have to find a compatible 'Slide to Unlock' slider that resides at the bottom edge sorta like yours rather than every one I have that sits too high up and distractingly intersects with the vertical line. That or ditch the 2G for the iPhone 4 already. Lol.
Also just a few minor details I've noticed...
Is there a way to modify the code to have the AM/PM as a seperate entity from the actual hours & minutes? Notice that it shifts left/right whenever the minutes change from narrow number to wider numbers, and vice versa.
Also not sure if it is just my phone/theme but have noticed that when the Day/Month poke out just a fraction from the bottom edge of the album art when the iPod is active. Assuming I can fix this by nudging up the position of the whole thing up via the HTML file...
Also have noticed that when you bring up music player controls at the LockScreen it also brings back the LockScreen Clock that's previously hidden with the Cydia app. It's fine when there's music currently playing but it is kinda weird when the iPod is off as there's two clocks, with two different fonts, on screen with the regular LockClock time about 30 secs to 1 min faster than the Blink clock.
Curious if any of these issues affect you on iOS 4 or if they're just problems strictly associated with my custom 3.1.2 OS... Regardless keep the fantastic work man...

rhyguy In reply to Son1ze [2011-01-21 01:40:28 +0000 UTC]
That happens on ios4 too, i just removed the music lockscreen plugin since my headphones can control my music
as for the AMPM thing, you could make a new div in the html file and hook it into the coding i use now for AMPM
