Description
Quick and simple color portrait. Drawn with Faber Castell Polychromos. Drawn in about two hours. I've been visiting family, doing a lot of sketching whilst hiding from family members. Will upload more soon. This one was based on a photo fromΒ dontcrynow.deviantart.comRelated content

Your use of colors is so nice in here!
Which colors do you use for the skin? I also have Polychromos and tried to draw skin but the result din't satisfy me at all. I'd be very happy about some help

When drawing skin, I primarily use pinks, browns, and yellows. Burnt ochre, walnut brown, venetian red, cadmium yellow, and light flesh are my favorites. I use light flesh and yellow the least, usually only for the highlights. When drawing skin based on a photo, I break it down into sections, based on color. For example I might focus on a part of a cheek that looks like a mix of orange and pink; I'll lightly layer burnt ochre and venetian red, trying my best to match the tone in the photo, mixing in a little brown too. By drawing lightly, I can easily correct any mistakes. When I feel I've matched the color in the photo, I move onto an adjacent section.

Lol, dude, thanks! Drawing realistically isn't that hard for me, it's basically just busywork. But its good practice!Β

B-but COLOR....
I can't color to save my life, lest it's on Photoshop.
I guess I just need more practice. x_x

When you have tried drawing in color, do you use color pencils? Happy to give tips if I can think of any..

Yeah, I use Prismacolors.
I think the last time I colored was ninth grade though.
And yes!
Advice would be angelic!
