Another little color portrait... I'll get back to making REAL art soon enough. I've just been enjoying drawing these; portraits of pretty faces. Fun and easy exercise. Drawn with Polychromos. Making a drawing that's just based on a photo; there's no imagination involved. I know it requires artistic skill, but anything that unimaginative doesn't feel like art to me. But that's just my own weird way of thinking!

I've heard a lot that 'art' is art when it expresses something (with artistic skill). Here you've expressed someone's beautiful face! And in a really technical, confusing psychological way you would need some sort of artistic imagination to even create an image like this... haha

What kind of paper are you using, I like how the color pencil works with the pencil.

Oh this is done on Canson Illustration paper, my new favorite. Stumbled across it a few months back. It's hard to find in my local Blick, there's lots of Canson products, but this one type I rarely see. So I just ordered a bunch from Amazon.
