Since you said that you want to move your pictures into a bit more realism, let me give you a little critics on this:

This picture itself is pretty, it shows a lot of detail and effort put into both the drawing and the coloring. But it's unreal and stands out more as a symbol, logo, or some kind of stylized art, than a realistic drawing or painting.

There are two main subject that would need to change in order to move to realism:

1. The pose. This pose is "flag pose", it's symbolic. I see power in it, with wings spread like this and the very large tail. It reminds me a lot of animals in country signs, like our Czech lion for example: [link]

The pose is powerful, but physically unreal. The wolf stands in the air, but in this pose, it wouldn't hold very long. The pose tells us the wolf is about to land somewhere, but then the hind legs should be placed more forward the "place where it is going to land".

Overall, if you would like to make more realistic pose, it's very helpful when you plan the whole scene ahead. If you know what exactly is the character supposed to be doing, you can catch the right position for it. And then you only need to follow the laws of physics so that the viewers get the feeling of realism.

-----------------------

2. The shading of fur, wings and body parts. This is another subject that needs to be changed in order to give more realistic feeling to the picture. Again, I see symbolic (yet detailed) shading of all parts of the character. Like, giving a full variety of shades, from very dark to very light colour, to each cluster of fur or every single feather, it says you didn't scamp your work, but it's not realistic. The fur's length is different on all body parts and it grows in different direction, and you should follow both. Also, it gives a pseudo-3D feeling of the fur clusters, but the character itself is FLAT. When shading, first, give a proper shading to your character that corresponds to it's 3D structure - don't be scared to put maybe even over a half of the character into the shadow if the scene demands it! In this very case, the lightening is behind the wolf. Thus, only the part of the wolf that is turned away from us should be lightened, the rest should be dark (of course, planning where do you put the source of light can help to keep lightened those part of the character that are important, like head). When the main 3D structure is followed, then you can pay attention to the rest - 3D shading of the fur. Make lighter shadows where the fur is lightened and darker highlights where it stays in shadow.

The same applies for wings. There is no need for each and every single feather to be "3D-shaded" like you did on this picture if it doesn't correspond the reality. Feathers are not round. They are flat, and thus should work "as one" when shading - like a whole flock of feather should have the same color. Because leaving a picture "flat" looks weird sometimes, it can help to give the feathers texture - but light texture! And only such that corresponds the feathers real shape - feathers have the center stem and structure that unfortunately I can't describe because my English fails me here, but any good bird book can give you the clue.

The muscles and body shades should follow the real 3D structure as well. If you wrongly place a leg or make it too long in the initial drawing, you can see the error - the anatomy is wrong. But if you give a bad shading of muscles, you make the same error - anatomy wrong again. The legs in this picture are wrongly shaded muscles-wise. Don't be afraid to use a reference when you are not sure how the structure should look like. Also, beware of the STRENGTH of the shadows. The darker/lighter the contrast, the bigger distance between the two shaded parts should be (this is also true for the strength of light source and the shaded object's surface structure, so it is only relative to all other parts on the picture... but the contrast on your legs here says either there is a big hole in the legs or the legs are made of metal).

The same applies for the head/snout etc. Use lightened figures when you are not sure, it helps a lot

Well, I am sorry that I wrote this very long. I sincerely hope it will be for use to you.
