Description
Collab illustration between myself and my IRL buddy , a Daring Do pic we've wanted to do a while back but was postponed due to our busy schedules.Nico of course did the drawing and I colored, as well as added some of the extra minor details. Seeing how the piece came together was a fun experience.
Here is what NMartinez had to say about the concept :
"This is a little headcanon of mine, depicting an origin/inspiration for Daring Do. Similar to “Read It and Weep," she broke her leg very badly right when summer was beginning. A large cast was put on and she did not like being anchored by it the rest of the summer. One day, she took notice of her relative’s collection of Donald Duck/ Uncle Scrooge comics. Skeptical at first, she thumbed through and noticed the appeal of the stories. She quickly became glued to the adventure and humor of the stories, especially of those of one Scrooge McDuck cruising the world for priceless treasures. This got her throughout he whole season, right up to her leg being fully healed. She later learned that the stories and art of the comics were by the legendary Carl Barks, “The Good Duck Artist.” Her newfound love of his stories would be instrumental in inspiring her to be a treasure hunter herself.
For the setting, I thought of Daring Do coming from a wealthy background or at least well-off enough to go traveling. She would already have a fascination for far-off places by then.
In general, I thought this was a good way to bring up such underrated and classic gems of comic history and mix it with another thing I enjoy. The Barks stories were what also inspired George Lucas and Steven Spielberg for the Indiana Jones franchise, and Daring Do's very "Indy"-like anyway. "
Hope you guys enjoy!

Cool concept!
I've seen his work before and I like the style he used! It's like if Daring Do was a Animaniacs or Looney Tunes cartoon, and I mean that in a good way
Oh, and of course your coloring really compliments his drawing very well. Hats off to both of you!
