Description
just a quickie......it's not much of a tutorial, but it's just the order in which i do things .____.
i always use a sketch to go over - i honestly CANNOT draw digitally without a template >.<
then i do the lineart and flat colour. I tend to merge the flat colour layers together and leave the lineart seperate. I out the lineart layer above all the others to make sure i don't go over it in another colour.
then the shading. I use more than one layer for each colour to do the shading - i use a darker colour on one layer, then another darker colour (of the same colour) and go over that - sometimes i do three if im drawing a dark area. ALL the shading layers are set to MULTIPLY - then i merge the shaded layer (still of the same colour) and use the blur tool to make it look softer.
then the shine - i just used a soft brush in a lighter colour and set the shine layer to LIGHTEN. The eyes i always do last - i'll do a tutorial on them someday....

EDIT: this was done on photoshop elements 6.0 and with a tablet

i tend to work in that exact order except I do the shine refelctions before the major shading. And I can't do a digital draw without a sketch, neither.

people who colour without a sketch must be amazingly talened
i supposed that this was the usual order in which people work
