Original Size: Approx. 13" x 18", Medium: Acrylics (with a tad of color pencil...)A pin-up for a change! This is a portrait piece I did as a series of artworks for promotion and a possible book deal. There are many more in the series I haven't scanned or completed yet, ranging from provocative poses to simple sensuality. I wanted this girl to be sexy and inviting without compromising the integrity of the pic. This pic can be zoomed in for a little better look. Not much bigger, but larger than the post.
To say that this portrait painting is sort of misleading. You see, this girl doesn't exist except in my mind and on the canvas. It's because I used a mix of references and imagination to create her. So there's no question she is a 'fantasy' figure (for the viewers especially!)

I just adore her skin-tone. She seems to have been oiled or lotioned? Very shiny! ^_^ Her lips remind me somewhat pf Marilyn Monroe, as does her facial expression.

Many thanks! I'm doing a series of these pictures, but I intend to do as much variety as I can. I'm quite content with some of the new sketches and hope to get started painting full-color versions this summer, when time permits!

Thanks! The odds are someone out there has to look like her, but who knows? (On a side note, the publisher who wants to see more pin-ups also ask me to do a bunch of fantasy-style pin-ups, so I'm doing centaur-ladies, spider-woman, etc.)

Hey, sounds good! My sister is always complaining to me about "How come you hardly paint any fantasy-musclemen/male characters or whatever?!" And I tried to explain the certain markets and publishers, but she still says "Create some of those!!". Well, she and the rest of all Womandom will be happy to know I also will be creating some new fantasy-style pin-ups of male characters, as well as paintings! Other markets have expressed interest too, so I said cool! I am only working on prelimary sketches now, but they are very promising. Some of them will be reflective and artistic (like warriors on a throne, on a hill, etc.), while others are more raw and sensual (rescuing woman from beast, warriors posing with weapons with torn shirts, embraces, etc...) Now, all I need is the time to illustrate them all!! But they will get done!

Maybe they could be well-built or toned in shape but not overly muscular. That way they look more 'normal', whatever is normal for them! In other words, more practical. For example, if a centaur-man had too much upper-body muscle, he'd bowl over forward!!
Quick question: is there any way I can review old comments not listed on my main page? I had a stock model send me a note when I started at DA and I didn't bookmark her name (which I don't remember now...!). I wanted to use one of her stock pics as reference, but now I can't locate her gallery! Any info would be wonderful...

Thanks for the links. You know, I think the first one is her (!), but I'm not 100% certain because I don't recall her doing nudes. But then again, I may have only glanced at her gallery. I don't recall her exact DA username, but I think part of it was something like Rose. She is a Stock Model and I believe she's located in Texas, US. I remember some of her pictures; a brunette, in her late twenties-early thirties. Quite pretty in a classical sense and most of her pics were in dresses & portraits ala renaissance-style.
I may have put one of her pics under my Favs so I'll check it out, but I doubt it because I was new to DA at the time and didn't know for sure what to click. Thanks for your help, though. Maybe she'll check in to my gallery on a later date.
