Description
Original Size: 14" x 17", Medium: AcrylicThis is the second piece of two I painted of the classic comic character Vampirella. The first piece I did of her appeared in Harris Comic's Newletter a few years back, but this one was done as a sample cover only. Vampirella is a pulp fiction-style character, famous for her skimpy costume! I think she's just a fun character, not really intended to be taken too seriously, although lots of fans do and she has a devoted following for sure!

I would do anything for Frazetta's Vampirella! Thank God she's only a figment of his cool imagination!! Live models can't do her justice!

Maybe it's just for the appearance of a dress code, to avoid getting arrested or something! But she might as well paint it on (Wait...! It IS painted on, you say?!!! I never would have guessed it...!)

Naw...Not really. This is what many of the editors want to see; big boobs and lots of skin...! So I give them what they want. Thanks, though!

Ha! En realidad, esta interpretacion de la caricatura es mas 'pequena' como otros artistas lo pintan.

Thanks! I used the classic 70's Vampirella as a starting point. Vampi has gone through some changes, but she basically remains as slutty ever!!

Vampirella was always a bit of a tease (...or a slut, I guess)! Compare to other interpretations by artists, my picture seems tame.
Still, Vampi is a pretty tough lady!!!

I love the skin tones, you've brought a lovely warmth to the skin. You've done the hair brilliantly too. I like how the earrings appear to be glowing by themselves mysteriously, but that could be reflected light. This is wonderful, Richard.

Many, many thanks! Harris Comics already has the basic look of Vampirella established (costume, hair color, etc.), but I picked a model that I thought fit the role. The one's they use are ok, but not really in keeping with the comic.
