Sorry I haven't commented earlier, I just now got check out the whole list of new deviations ^^

This is amazing, I especially like the way you've handled the skin. Many people make the dark skin colours look more like a tan, but you've done it perfectly! Also the detail on the skin is stunning!

Please never feel you need to apologise..

I really appreciate the time you have taken looking at and commenting on this set of drawings.

You take the time to comment specifically. That is very thoughtful of you.

Thanks for adding this as a favourite.

I think his mystery told every story he needed to tell. It was obvious from the day he boarded. His faith and convictions were too strong to get caught up in story-telling. He was a better character for not taking the bait every time Malcolm laid it out there for him.

oh, yeah, the picture is fabulous. This was a daring task, I think. (between the hair, mustache, and skin tone) incredibly well done.

I think you could've given some more attention to the shirt but the head is gorgeous great drawing

I was anticipating Book being perhaps one of the least interesting. However the detailing in the face made it a challenge to draw and very satisfying as it progressed.

And another great drawing, well done you! His expression is great. He looks very mysterious... as if he knows something that no one else knows. It's in the eyes, I think. Well done on capturing that, brilliant job!

How beautiful! Very photographic, and a perfect likeness to Ron Glass! Superb capture of his wonderful dark skin and white hair, and absolutely gorgeous work on the shading and drapery! Another awesome portrait! I would love to watch the series--but that's one of the (few) drawbacks to living rurally--no choice of channels! I'm really liking your portrait series, tho--it's just great!

Thank you.
A favourite too and not having seen the series! Most appreciated. Still however great I think Firefly is, it doesn't beat the pleasures of a rural life. I grew up in a fairly large UK town and have moved out to rural East Anglia and I love it.

Richard...*sigh* I don't know what I'm going to do with you. It wasn't the movie, it was in the Firefly series, the episode "Mrs. Reynolds".

I'm so disappointed.

*Scratches head*

What I meant was the line said that it was reserved for people who talk in theatres. As well as for other heinous crimes.
I hate people talking when I am at the movies. So I rejoiced at that line!

You thought I meant... Oh it doesn't matter, let it be enough that Richard has disappointed Tory.
*Hangs head in shame. Goes to sit in corner*

Wow. The clothes first and foremost look very real. His face, wow captured the expression, captured his mustache ;D, and did a magnificent job at his wrinkles.

The left eye seems a bit small, but I suppose that's because of the shadows.

Great job overall. It's almost like looking into a photograph. Haha.

RichardBurgess In reply to LunarFate [2007-08-14 19:20:22 +0000 UTC]

I think, if truth be told, the right eye is a touch on the large side, but I prefer your plan of blaming the shadows!

This is absolutely fantastic; it's as if Book himself was looking straight back at me from the PC screen.
Book was one of my favourite characters from the series; it annoyed me that they never explained his past...
Wonderful work, as per usual.

I guess all we can hope for is another movie with flashbacks!
