I entitled this piece Doubles as certain 'visuals' (that make some sense) could be interpretedperhaps two ways: The rugged Japanese Lantern doubles as a hot air balloon. The strange human-like figures
that occupy the balloon's gondola, could be almost anything...and the gondola, a bird's nest perhaps? You decide!!!
WATERCOLOR, Prismacolor Pencils and Black Gesso on Cold Pressed Paper ~ 18x24' (...and working with black gesso, if I
may quote a favorite author Ivan Doig, "...is like wrestling with the circus bear, and hoping his muzzle doesn't come off."
Scary stuff, black gesso. Hey, thanks for your support, as per usual.....richard.

what worries me is the giant chipmunk trying to pull it down

And this one is NOT a RORSCHACH test....amazing how
we all see different things happening in these visuals.

directly below the middle of the gondola......it's nose is pointing upwards quite close to it.....then is it's eye ( a big Disney eye) and flat ears.....(maybe it's a rabbit).....it's standing up on it's hind legs reaching up.........
should I stop now?

Yep, I think I located it!!!! More of a rabbit, with those ears.
I never got past the bird's nest thing....I'm not quite an empty
nester, as my son is temporarily living with us....but I definitely
have nests on my mind!!!!

Yeah...it's bewildering...my son is more in a hurry than me...
and that puts pressure on. Much of it is done online, and dealing with
temporary foster homes (which is a good thing). Today we went to a
large shelter where they had a number of caged animals...more my style
and more direct in choosing....but all were just too big. My wife also wants
one medium size, so I'm glad I have her input etc etc....
I'll let you know....there's a couple I'm about to meet...It's not as simple as:
How much is that doggie in the window? Woof! Woof! Remember

I must tell you, Monday Morning, that I got word that our wonderful dog that
we had a chance to meet, will stay with her foster woman WHO cried all the way home
with her dog. SHE IS UNABLE to PART with Suzie. So...we will not be adding Suzie to
our family. Emotionally, I'm rather tired, and really have no energy to start another
search....just thought I'd let you know!!!

THAT's A WONDERFUL SERIES....we were brought a wonderful dog today...Suzie.
Her foster brought her. Such a delightful dog...and we could all be home to meet her.
Quiet, loving...a faithful companion. Part Beagle and Dashund (sp?). She was found,
abandoned on an Alabama highway. Luckily she was not euthanized,....Alabama is what
they call a Kill State (what else would we expect from the South?) so she was trucked
up north*. Alex and I filled out the app on line...and I hope she will soon be part of
our family.....pics to come!!! THANKS for the sending Trish...!!! HUGS
