Description I'm dedicating this watercolor to my son, who, like me, has suffered in unrequited love situations and truly, who hasn't?
The First Pour of this piece stymied me at first, so I used is as a background for Madonna and Child with Watecolor. Then I
emailed a photo of the first pour to an artist friend, and he said he saw an exploding heart. So, ...that gave me the idea. That oddball
protrusion upper left would become a torch. It's a dark watercolor...but I remember those dark days after losing that love of my life.
For me they're just a tiny blip on a radar screen, but...not for my son, whose memories are still close by. RCG Β  Β

Even tho I'm working on one now, I rarely copy my favorite (taken by me) photos
using w/c. I let it find its own path, let it dry, keep looking to see what's there to bring OUT.
It's all intuition. Glad I've attracted your attention. I'm going to have a look to see what
you're coming up with. THANKS....richard

Hi Richard,
I totally understand.Β  I do a variety of styles - depending on mood and genre.Β  I've been busy with children for the last few years, but before that I was heavily into intuitive art creation too. So the method is familiar to me.Β  It's my "comfort zone".Β  Now I'm back to creating more again following the motherhood break, I'm exploring what the life break has done to my art style, and I'm enjoying discovering how life has informed my artworld again.Β
I'll keep my eye out for your new works!Β  They are stunning!
Best wishes,
Amy

Beautiful piece. I really like how you have a created a restriction in a form of a rectangle and then broke that restriction by letting the painting be more than that. Gives it life and vibrancy instead of being confined in a box like a lifeless stuffed animal up for display. The jagged edge in the lower right corner seem like the rules are about to be broken once more!

Thanks for your lovely comments! I have just put you on a WATCH! Your work is incredible.
If you were to browse thru my gallery you would find many, MANY "Break Outs" as I call them.
At one point I simply got tired of the rectangle. In the case of "Torch..." I had to remove the masking
tape on the top so as to give me some room for the flames and smoke, etc etc. I'm one of the world's
poorest planners! Here's just one more example. THANKS so much, Again!!!!

Things that come to mind that have got lost in time.
How well you have portrayed the feelings of absolute despair and sadness..The feelings that you have that things will continue forever. How hard it is when it isn't a mutual parting .Alex has a very understanding ,caring Father!IMy heart goes out to him!!!t's funny how the things in our past fly into our minds when something happens in the present,,,,especially when it's to one we love!

Your words are tender, understanding and lovely. My fear is that Alex will quit trying, he takes the hurt so seriously. But, ha,ha,....I beat the odds....and got married at age 41. And we're still together...the two of us, still hoping and praying for grand kids someday! Thanks, so much my dear!

Ya...we too! And I do hope you used the Magnifier to see if you can find some haunting details of
"Torch" ~ like the perpetrator herself...it's part of his abstracted hand clutching the torch!!!

Alex has been on a ten day retreat with The Vipassana Zen Buddhists, two hours south of Seattle.
So... we have been incomuncado for ten days...and were anxious to hear of his transformation. He's
REALLY into Zen,,, and I suppose that's my doing.... Thanks for your kind and lovely words ... from
a kinder and lovelier person!!!
