Description
Here, once again, I ask the viewer to visualize parallels between a highly abstracted runway model who has very fewclues as to reality: her ambiguous multi-face, a hand holding a leash to a French Poodle and a cigarette holder and ultra
mod glasses and hair doo ~ and the very realistic and strutting Great Blue Heron. Now I ask you: Which one is more decked out?
WATERCOLOR on 140' Cold Pressed paper • 16x22" image size. Thanks so much for having a look....rcg

Everything is practice and trying something different. No one has commented
on the typography. This comes directly from my art direction career of yesteryear.
Those legs are meaty for a million$ runway model. That's how the paint rolled, this time.!
THANKS LOVE YOUR COMMENTS, Trish!!!

Seems I'm leaning into contrasting a highly abstract shape/blob with
a tight...bird? or something detailed and realistic. You caught that quite nicely.
Thank Anne....

fantastic creation of the ambivalence between reality and phantasy

I just find it hard to go completely abstract...so I add little touches of
reality, here and there, just to help 'understanding' along!!!
Thanks for writing to me.....regards from richard
PS super analysis on your part....AMBIVALENCE is the key word here..
and in my paintings (at least most of them)

I‘m feeling again and again sitting between chairs as well, some visitors want no touches at all , others are happy to get them. I like both. Your work is really great 👏

I'll feel better when nature turns the heat on again...we're just a freezin'
our butts off up here, waiting for that bloody super bowl to get outta town....
Thanks again, really!
