Description
My son Alex captured this shot of the peak of the moon's coverage (about 80%) using a newSamsung phone. Not quite sure how he did it, but being able to darken exposure really helped.
He also did a slight zoom on the duo. WOW, I was impressed....way to go dude!!!

It's a rare shot Alex took. Usually rain clouds require good timing as the sun and moon were weaving in and out from behind the clouds. We did NOT have a total eclipse here , just 80% of the sun was covered.

As teasing as the clouds were, during the eclipse, Β I think they really provide a dramatic ambience.
Thanks much....RichardΒ

Yeah, as was responding to the comment above, most eclipse shots are generally sans clouds. In this shot, I do believe they heighten the drama. Thanks Lawrence!

still a better view than I had in Minnesota.
storms and thick overcast here ruined it.

I'm sorry. The heavy clouds moved in shortly after Alex made the shot.
