THe final one-eight of my entire painting time was done 'just getting loose'.

That's always the way it goes with realism. I struggle with realism and freshness...

That's a great attitude and the reason I think so is because I've struggled too, and still am. I'm a complete novice. I'd imagine that if a painter were to just etch in the inspiration and render it out compositionally, then the real good stuff would be the loose stuff. But yeah man, setting up those parameters seems like the ticket for space and separation. Again, great work!

Ha ha...the last 10 minutes of the rendering was quite spontaneous.

I just let go. It was a tough one ~ too much detail..... THANKS a bunch...

I'm unable to paint instinctively, spontaneously... I must take my time.... Maybe my last drawing ( Amalia Rodrigues) is a bit "in a hurry"... It's an old drawing........
