Description
This rather sad and surreal watercolor is thepainting I finished the day my son left home...today.
Somebody is missing at the window...and
maybe that's my son. I'll write more about it
when I'm feeling better.

Yeah, even before I posted it, I developed her eyes a bit,
but truly: she came out of nowhere. Almost like a Geisha. Hope
your day is going well, and that England's weather has normalized
a bit. Did you say you've started watching the new Downton Abbey
series? I can hardly wait. That series was awesome...IS awesome.

I knew this might glean your attention with the hummingbirds.
And I thank you for the emoticons which appear to be sympathetic!
Life will always have a credit and a debit side. Some times just
aren't much fun. But HURRAY!...we can do art to perhaps
get us through. Best to you always, Yvette...

Imagining this image as an architectural piece reminded me of Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia.
(...and yes, art does get us through difficult times).

Yes, Gaudí's famous church and its awesome architecture are indeed
something seemingly out of a dream. For me, the fireworks really
begin when I embark on modeling the shapes I like that have dried
on the w/c paper ~ that is: giving them much depth,as if side-lighted.
This is where I finish the job with colored pencils...or more w/c.
I like your analogy with architecture. I never thought about that.
I have (since posting it)'seen' a very strange, veiled lady below that large
ugly mass of feeder. I've only developed her eyes a bit. But if that
makes it more dream-like, wunderbar! Love your comments. THANKS so much!
