Description Rachel Summers as Phoenix/Dark Phoenix. The specifics of the client request:
What do heroes do after a truly tough outing? All day spent battling the clock trying to save a city from natural disaster (or alien invaders), no time for a breather, no time for food, no time even for bathroom breaks, just non-stop 110% effort. Rachel sitting heavily on the remnants of a wall or tree, a bottle of water next to her thigh from...she doesn't even remember the kind soul who offered it, and is too tired to even open it. Sore, sweat-drenched, filthy, thinking how good a glass of that burgundy back at the X-Mansion would taste right about now. Completely un-self-conscious about how she's sitting or who might be looking at her; that moment when we're so tired, we just cease giving a damn about what others think.

Copic markers, colored pencils, and white ink on 11x14 vellum bristol board.

Love this! Rachel is such an underused, underrated character!

I've never had a request as specific as from this client - this was a sample of the description I received. He really knew what he wanted.

It's hard to convey a feeling without context.
