I have said it elsewhere: this photograph is a wonderful work. Again, every photograph in your portfolio is a fabulous work and it clearly shows your commitment to fine-art photography.
I speak for myself, I am honored to be able to watch your photographs

beautiful!!
just one question, how do you get that fast sync speed? I thought the maximum was 1/250th.

Aha - good question! It is normally, and 1/250th makes it hard to overpower the sun. I was using the new PocketWizard TT5 and TT1 units though, and they are very cool little devices indeed that play around with the timing of the flash. With speedlights and a full frame camera they let you sync normally up to around 1/320th. With the profotos, though, the slightly longer flash duration means you have a bit more leeway for the timing tricks to work, and I can squeeze 1/800th with no banding. It's a marvel, and in bright sunshine it's the business

As always, Emma is looking fabulous, but the fact that everything is in super crisp focus is a little distracting if I'm being honest.

Honesty is always good And an interesting point. I had thought that the fact that the background is pushed back in brightness would reduce the distraction... but I agree a smaller DOF would look good. Of course in these conditions that would have required a 3 stop ND filter... but I did have one with me

When you're shooting on the beach like this, are you required to have a permit? Do you have endless interruptions and visits from Metro Police?

Funnily enough we had endless problems from the hotel when we were shooting in the hotel grounds, but on the beach... nothing. Mind you, there weren't many police around in their little police swimsuits :-D
