Whoa! It's hard to get the balance right in a minimalist thing. This gets it exactly right.

Thanks so much I do love minimal things when I can get them to work. Some iterations of this one were covered up - and then there it was

Always nice to find the sweet spot, right?

Yup - it's the place I sometimes get anxious I won't find again. I know I can always glue some stuff down and have it look okay, but the sweet spot is something else. It does seem to keep arriving though.

I love all images covered or at least partially so.

I guess in McLuhanesque terms it's a cool image, drawing the viewer in - I hadn't thought of that until just now.

Hey, Thanks for looking that up. I think it's a pretty neat poem. I got really interesting images.

You're welcome, I'm glad you liked it. There is some strong stuff in those old poems.

like a floorplan or map for a library , those colorful dots , they are like markings used as a guideline to different sections in a library and thereΒ΄s a shhh... effect ,quiecy , in this i like this very much .. what a coincidence , just yesterday i worked with collages with a similar idea , of words and images hidden beoynd empty layers

thanks, Markus. the hiding technique is one I like a lot - sometimes it's exactly what a piece requires.

heh - you're right, it would have gone well - think of it as a retroactive collaboration with your journal

just a ray of him is present, and 3 dots to imagine the rest.
it's great when you do it minimal, Richard

RichardLeach In reply to partiallyHere [2013-07-08 23:53:25 +0000 UTC]

thanks very much, Hanan! it's a style i keep coming back to - and this one was funny, there are several layers covered up - the thicker it got, the more minimal the surface became

partiallyHere In reply to RichardLeach [2013-07-08 23:57:05 +0000 UTC]

i'm glad you say that, i wasn't quite sure

sort of working through excess to the essential... but without a plan, just doing it.

yup. having something to work on that doesn't have to be planned or get to any particular place is such a pleasure. you know - you may only get that for an area the size of a playing card - but it's still good

i have just replied to one of your comments about titles what a funny coincidence!
i love those colored spots and the spying eye! and the top cantos... and so on...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RichardLeach In reply to m-lucia [2013-07-08 23:32:41 +0000 UTC]

and i almost titled this with a date then changed my mind

thanks and it certainly does have cantos

i thought i saw the date...! or was it an illusion that's why i said it was a funny coincidence...

i had a collagist friend here, Emily ~DroopingSanityFences (not active here now, a facebook friend instead) who would post things and then take them apart and put them together differently after i had faved them and commented - i'd be like "what just happened?"
