it was bad we were okay. tree limbs came down on power lines and we lost power for 8 hours, but it was overnight so we slept through most of it.

driving out this morning i saw a tree that had come down on part of a house

We had quite a storm recently as well. one of the construction managers I had met after that had been in his car while it was hit by a falling car ... he was VERY lucky.
Great Austrian author Ödon von Horvath was killed by a falling branch in Paris on the Champs Élysées  en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%96d%…
I have no idea if he was translated to English ...

he was lucky indeed! there were fatalities here from exactly that.
