Something about airplanesThis is not only the title of one of my favourite short stories by Haruki Murakami but what these featured pictures have in common.
I have missed putting together these features for quite some time (looking through my old journal entries I revisited many nearly forgotten faves) and now it's about time .... Thanks to maxlake2 I am the proud owner of a premium membership again and so this is also to thank him - photographer of airplanes!
Does anyone still say AEROPLANE I wonder ....

I had a moment of consternation. You know that "pies" is Polish 'dog'?

Thanks, Laura. Finding my way... came back from the week away with a big need to put glue on paper and stick it down!

and reasons are very important in art. everybody knows it even when not very reasonable reasons.

right you are. what a lovely phrase that is, "not very reasonable reasons." words are wonderful things. if they are things...
i recall that in Hebrew "word" and "thing" are the same word - is that so in Arabic as well?
i know, i'm rambling

no, they are too separate words in arabic. i tried to find similitude but no.
but in arabic, something that i find beautiful, is that the world "letter" can mean "word" and can mean also all that is written (literature) or the power of written things.
now my turn to be rambling

ah thanks (consonants are DBR, by the way).
and yes, what a beautiful arabic word, this one for "letter" with its meanings. how is it spelled or said?
the english word "letters" - plural - is similar in fact though not quite the same; it can refer to the alphabet or to literature or we might say "the world of letters" for the power of it.
rambling is a beautiful thing

yes about letters in plural, it is true even in french.
the arabic word is Harf the H being the 7 (the first letter has the same pronunciation of that of my name)
