Well, I do leave the room too, but I'm less able to go out the door this time of year... which tends to keep me at my desk doing one thing or another. Four inches of snow out there from yesterday's storm and another four to eight coming tonight.

The road is usually plowed and relatively passable within a day or so... We watch the weather forecast to make sure we don't run out of groceries. If the snow is light, I shovel the whole driveway, if it's heavy, just a path to the cars. These mid-winter storms don't knock out power - that's a bigger problem when it happens.
