Aaand I'm back
After nearly being burned out, changing job, relocating from Berlin to Barcelona,
I finally had time to finish this illustration! And it was about time
feels goodto see it finished after such a long break.

XD i totally do that, too; makes it harder to commit but it's fun playing with the light/colours. but yeah, regardless, the fight was worth it; it's a very lovely, vibrant piece.

and I feel like half the battle is always staring at photoshop and wondering if i just throw on enough colours, it'll be alright. or looking at another pic i did and wondering how i even got the skintone colours the way i did. I feel like landscapes and stuff are the only situation where i consistently mostly know what's going on.
whatevs, half the fun is the learning process and ~challenging yourself~, right?

what I also noticed, I need to draw stuff I usually don't draw (things I feel uncomfortable with).
This also helps improving, even though the result doesn't look perfect!
I started painting and it looks so crappy... XD that's how it is!

what don't you usually draw?i'm doing a solo rin piece for sakurathon and I'm trying to paint his abs -- hardest thing ever ( bad pun?). This is the only time I've ever cursed him for being so attractively muscular! ;_;
And yeah, Ikr?? I was going through my old art the other day and regretting everything. XD
We just... Gotta keep painting, crappiness be damned!
And I've heard that if you think you're stagnating or whatever, that means you're going to improve soon? I don't quite remember why though.

yes for example I usually don't draw clothes xD haha, I like anatomy, but with clothes everything looks different!
I also never paint, I only do flat shades! That's what I still need to learn! I can't find the curve image anymore, there was a good one on dA.

omg yes, I know exactly what you mean!! thank goodness Free! gives us an excuse to keep them half-naked :'D (+ their swim gear is so very formfitting).
I really like the style and look of flat shades but every time I try, I don't feel very comfortable with it? idk if that makes sense. >.<Β

you reach small goals everytime ^3^ but it takes some time to really get where you wanna be and even if you reach that your point of view changes and so do your expectations XD that means we will never ever stop learning and improving!
