Angels are a common divine-messenger found in many religious fictions. Typically they are depicted as either human in appearance with celestial traits, or bizarre but noticeably divine beings (such as the Ophanim being wheels and Cherubs being what is essentially a manticore-esque monstrosity). My interpretation is no different, as Angels are a spectrum of different species, who share the common trait of being indirect offspring of any deity, divine in nature and with a typical strong sense of authority and obedience to their hierarchy.

The dominant species of angels are the silver-angels, who were, upon their inception, given the greatest authority by the Emperor. Their silver-coloured blood a general trait shared among them alongside an unnaturally strong attunement to arcane arts.

Various other species of angel include the blood-angels, angels of dust, angels of glass, angels of tears, angels of seed/semen and the lost angels. Although all having some degree of allegiance to the Angelic Empire, each angelic species is also divided up in various factions vying for power. These splinter or even at times rebellious factions prove a troublesome and oftentimes exploited weakness in times of large-scale war.

Angelic biology is largely the same as mortal biology. Save for the "halo" organ and the two functional wings. Functional wings are exclusive to angelkind, with demons only growing (oftentimes malshapen) wings to spite their celestial counterparts. That is to say, powerful demons can still fly, but they simply do it with levitation powers as opposed to actually carrying their body on wings. The halo is a manifestation of faith-essence surrounding the angel's head. The greater the rank, the greater the power the halo can store. This manifests itsself in a more prominent and elaborate halo on higher ranked angels. Noticeably, angels of higher orders are able to change their body-type taking on more imposing, less human forms when in public dealings, and then taking more humble, human forms in personal company.

(NOTE: Petreos, the nude boi displayed above, is of the Seraphim class. I had to redesign him on the fly however as his older model was stone-age levels of old. His halo is far too dull for a Seraphim's because I was too lazy to make a proper one. None of these angels have wings because kisekae doesn't allow for the kind or size that I want for them and it's make them harder to display.

Angel hierarchy typically consists of the following ranks, decreasing in status:

-Justitio (displayed on the far right): Angelic rulers, lords and kings. Typically they adhere to less human forms such as suits of armour or statuesque/automaton like appearance. The ruler of all Silver angels is named the Grand-Justitio and serves as a first among equals. All Justitio have free access to the Emperor's own palace, and may ask for his counsel. Each Justitio is the master/mistress of their own household and those of lesser lords.

-Seraphinians: Six-winged angelic nobles. Standing as examples of virtue, courage and selflessness alongside their lords. Typically firstborn sons and daughters of a Justitio who are in line for their parents' thrones when they lay down their authority. Seraphinians are noteworthy for taking a title after their name. Examples are "Morwain, Seraphim of Generosity" or "Valdiver, Seraphim of Courage".

-Carnifexes: Angelic executioners, although standing outside of the authority's ladder, they adhere only to the direct command of their Justitio. They are a hybrid of formal executioners, interrogators and bounty-hunters. Blending in with perfection into whatever group they infiltrate and brutal and unyielding in their combat potential. They sometimes take to the battlefield to hone their skills.

-Erevauntii: Scholars of the highest order. Tasked with keeping archives of seas of priceless scrolls, tomes, artifacts and other items of knowledge. They dedicate whole months to research and reading, and are called upon for wisdom on a regular basis. Almost no Erevauntii take to the field of battle, but those that do take on the rank of "mercy". Mercies are battlefield healers who use their skill to attend to the wounds of fallen allies.

-Archons: An elite unit made up from secondborn children. Given a reforged body infused with the blood, tears and seed of their assigned house. In a way they are part of the angelic house they serve, though not entirely. Archons serve as bodyguards, depending on their house's tradition they either wear full suits of custom-made armour or servant apparel such as maid-dresses and butler-uniforms, around the estate they are assigned to.

-Valours: Angelic knights. The fiercest and most disciplined army-unit there is to be found in all of the worlds. Typically organized in groups of 25 known as "Cadres", which are then organized into larger "brotherhoods" consisting of 25 cadres. Each angelic house has at least one brotherhood under it's command.

-Evocatii: Human war-heroes resurrected as angels. Upon their demise they are given the choice to either pass onto the meadow of souls or ascend into angelhood. The ability to interact with their ancestors and other loved ones at the meadow isn't taken away however.

-Legio (armour displayed in the middle): Professional soldiers. Equipped and organized in various unit-types from the lightly armoured vengeance-seekers to the heavily equipped trueblades. Legio, unlike mortal or demonic soldiers however, don't succumb to the brutality of war, and even in their darkest hour they will remain kind of heart.

-Civita: Angelic citizenry. Artisans, messengers, harem members, servants, militias, models and so on, so forth. Angels don't have a society with heavy demands as ours, but they still have a creative spirit and an immortal life to develop themselves over. As such many take on artistry or make food solely for the pleasure of it's taste. Many Civita-ranked angels are servants to an angelic house, and attend to their superior's wishes and whims. Civita angels are also usually the ones who relay messages to religious figures on Earth, as poorly as mortal minds can interpret a hallucination as that may be.

-Attendanti: The smallest kind of angel, porcelain-skinned girls without the ability to hide their wings. They are typically present to relay news or messages between higher ranked angels. Though various Civita families are also noted to have one. Attendanti hold a flower of various types depending on the message they carry. A pink rose is a declaration of love. A thorny bramble-branch is a declaration of war. A yellow dandelion is a challenge for a competition.
