Description This is the cover to Grindhouse Releasing's Cannibal Holocaust Blu Ray and it's incredibly unpopular! It's been getting a real kicking on the forums but that's OK. Like the old adage goes, it doesn't matter what they say about you as long as they spell your name right. As soon as I see "Rock Milton sucks" I'll start worrying! As for this painting, it's pretty much put together from imagination so that means it's not technically as good as it would have been if I'd used stills. Incidentally, the worst reception I ever got for a cover was for Inferno. I must admit that all the abuse started to hurt a bit so I went on a German forum that was usually quite kind to me. Hitting the 'translate' tab the first thing post I read spat "Anooder piss of shat from Rick Melton." Oh well, at least they spelt my name right!

Animal-free version or not I will always watch this movie as my favorite found-footage-film.

Big fan of CH, but I watch the animal-free version.

Great work! My favorite part is how you capture movement in the cannibals and victim.  I really loved this movie. Very intense.

this movie is crazy.  i remember renting it on video without having any idea what it was about and totally buying into it and wondering if it was real.  then a few years later, blair witch project came out and totally ripped off the concept.

I'd never seen it till Grindhouse sent me a copy. I really found the whole thing unnerving; it really was quite brilliant. The animal cruelty was stupid and totally unnecessary. It brought nothing to the film and must seriously have affected it's revenue. My wife and several of our friends resolutely refuse to watch it.

i don't think they were worried about revenue.  i don't think this had much of a theatrical run.  about the only people i know who've heard of it are series hardcore horror aficionados.  it's very underground.  i had no idea it was even on dvd much less blu ray.  i saw it on vhs in the mid nineties.
