Hey, I guess it's subjective. I, for one, was thinking of Golden's "Memoirs of a Geisha" thanks to the colours, and a geisha always holds for me like an emblem of masks and strength.
And no way, no problem!!! I'm more of a lurker most of the time, but commenting is good for people's soul, right?

I don't think that book is much about regret. Sayuri is happy with whatever little she's got of the Chairman, whatever/however much she has achieved in her life at the cost of Chiyo and Hatsumomo. Sad, yes, that ending should have been unrealistically happy, lol.
