i don't know. but as Nova put it in 'Ultimate Spider-Man', he's not actually a raccoon, and its that his alien species from his planet just happens to look like raccoons.
I don't know, its kinda vague and i'm just kinda getting started to know about the GotG since Ultimate MvC3, Avengers: EMH, and Ultimate Spider-Man. Though I kinda regret a little, watching Ultimate Spider-Man, to be honest.
