Hey, so good to see you again! I was so mad when the boss told me he fired you for "cost savings" reasons, as I feel like together we made him much more money than he spent on your salary. I'm really glad that other firm took my reference and got you into a similar position there. Yes, I agree my work isn't as fulfilling on my own, but I managed just fine before you came on and will continue to do just fine going forward in my job. And yes... I have rather missed working with you, so I was thrilled when you called and asked to meet up during our lunch today.
