Description

The Reayrty class was designed for the Reayrty Mining Corporation in 1847. These vertical boiler engines were used as shunters at the mine. The Reayrty Mining Corporation wasn’t keen on hiring scullcrushers to do the shunting, so these engines were bought instead. Four of these engines were built, and when the mines dried up in 1885, these engines were bought by the Peesh Coal Mining Company, later named the Obbeeysian Coal Mining Company, and they still work at the Peesh branch of the company till this day.
