Kent vs. The Rat King, From the Adventure Time episode "Little Brother"To me, newer seasons of Adventure Time have started going downhill, but every so often a great episode manages to sneak in, and rekindle some of that magic the series once had before it started toΒ delve to deeply into social commentary and building characters up only to destroy all their development with bad writing & poorly handled subplots.
The major details that made Adventure Time stand out from the other shows of its time were how fun and adventurous the first few seasons were, its ability to create mysterious world & characters people could sympathize with, and social commentary that was far more subtle and not as constant.
Opinions aside,Β I was getting some mad Kirby vibes from that episode which made it all the more enjoyable.

It was another super-edgy hamfisted anti-religion episode that tried to be too deep but ended up being shallow and leaving little to no impression.

His design is based on the idea of rats having their tails tangled together being called a "rat king" (even though he appeared to be a normal rat at first, a very cute one dare I say)

This episode actually reminded a lot of classical stories. Like an Aesop Fable or something. Fights against the king only to never leave the underground again.Β

to me this episode was like a homage to the first seasons in the whole quest business, but just without finn, hell finn himself was only in one scene and hardly had more than 5 seconds

Although I was never really a fan of Adventure time(but that crystal apple episode was just so great). I can see the difference of the first seasons and the season going on now.
But other then my opinions on the show.
I love the colors of this piece. I especially love the background! :3
