AAAARRRRRRGGGG!I don't even want to talk about how long this took to draw/color.
No seriously. It's a sin the amount of time I worked on this.
And I know there are a ton of technical details that I totally messed up on, but there is simply no more time!
I have to pack for my trip and prepare food for a get together and junk like that. I'm leaving tomorrow at like, 4:30 in the morning. T__T
My second attempt to submit to the TF art jam. ([link] ) Let's hope everything is in order this time.
It's the scene at the end of animated where the bots all return to Cybertron with the Decepticons as prisoners, the Magnus hammer in hand, and Prowl's body.
Redone in G1 of course.
I suggest clicking Download to at least see Optimus at full size. (Maybe Bumblebee too. I'm pretty happy with how he came out.)
Don't bother looking at the rest of the pic close up. Just those two.

Yeah, I've always enjoyed that sort of thing.
I haven't been active in the TF fandom for a while now, so I don't know if they're still doing these art jams or not, but it might be worth checking out!

It was for the last TF art jam, and every one was turning G1 or Movieverse into Animated. So I wanted to switch things up a bit.
It took all of my free time in the month of December. :I
I'm usually way to lazy to go back to a picture after my first session with it. So this was pretty hard for me, that's for sure.

Well, it was for a project where everyone was supposed to take an iconic scene from any TF series (Comics, Movie, Animated, ect) and redraw it in the style of another series.
I wanted to redraw a scene from animated in G1 style, because everyone else was doing it the other way around.
I chose that scene because A) It had a lot of characters in it, and B) it was the iconic last scene in Animated.

There are a few things about the picture that bug the heck out of me. But I was on a deadline and I just didn't have the time to fix them.

You were supposed to take some famous scene from any TF continuity and draw it in the style of another one.
I found that a lot of people were redrawing movie or G1 scenes in Animated style, so I decided to do an animated scene in G1 style.

I mean, when they killed everyone in the 86 movie, it was ONLY because they were making room so they could replace the cast with new toys and make a fortune.

They made Transformers like business has made every other good thing in the world by taking the dreams and love people put into a creation and extorting it for money!!! That's why I don't name my charaters so people don't steel them for themselves!

Their are so "Evil Co." and carp like that! They take children toys and ideals and go strait for the prophet. That's why TFA flopped because they couldn't go the extra mile to get it done without "one more million"!

Megatron stands out the most to me in this pic...just the way he's posed, directly facing the viewer, head bowed, looks really cool. The only thing bothering me is that he doesn't look damaged at all, whereas in the scene this is based on he has big chunks of armour missing with circuitry showing through. If he was showing some damage I think it would give off a better feeling of him being "defeated," the way he is posed now kinda shows it but I think adding some battle wounds would improve it. I think Optimus and Shockwave also have some cracks/damaged armour in that scene too.
Other than that I think this is really well done, can definitely see how much time you put into it

Yes, I realized a while after I posted it that I'd totally left off the damage.
Unfortunately, by that time I was on a trip without my compy, and the deadline for the art jam submissions had already passed.
But I agree entirely. A little bit of roughery would have made the picture a lot more poignant.
I suppose now that I have time I could go back and add some damage here and there...

Usually I don't fill in any shadow bits with pure black. But I think it worked well on Prime! I'm going to have to do it again in the future.
