every species of penguin live in the south, there's a huge misconception to this day that ppl think they live with polar bears so i wouldn't recommend the north pole, even though these are fictional monsters, its still important to keep some laws of nature in order

actually the Great Auk wasn't a penguin, but lived a similar lifestyle. it was more related to puffins.
