My parents and I took a trip to a recreation of an 1830s village in my home state. Looking across the fields surrounding one of the farmhouses there, I noticed how quiet and peaceful it was. I couldn't help but think about how farmland back then must have sprawled out for miles and miles. It made me wish that I could see it.Related content
