There's no white crosses painted on the cans, so I guess they are gasoline.

Hope to see you at my forum again soon!

Mien Gott, Riguel, You've done it again! With your masterful brush strokes (or however or whatever "tools of the trade" in the world you use) you have created another masterpiece I.M.O.!! With each picture you create, I thank the heavens that I met you. Okay, perhaps all this gushing is a little "over the top", I'm just saying that I really love your work. Here's to more, mien comrade. (add the sound of wine glasses clinking here.) Also, I couldn't help but notice that in your comments page, that some people are making suggestions, if I may make a request (or two)- I would LOVE to see one of your Luftwaffe babes in flight in her ME-262, or a battle-weary Wermacht sergeant prodding along a couple of Russian prisoners at the battlefront. (Just askin') But, WHATEVER you do, they ALL are freakin' brilliant! A gushing fan, Hugh

Thank you Hugh, it's always a pleasure to read a comment from you. For what is your suggestion, this may be a good basis for work ... Especially for the second, I'll hold you warned.

Oh, boy oh boy! In your capable hands, it's going to be so awesome! May I be so bold as to ask another favor? I was wondering if it would be possible to get MY hands on the full-size "Jerrycan Dressed" without the watermark? I have a couple of my own works that I will be posting here very soon, and I think there is at least one of them that you might want for your own collection. I will, as they say, "keep you posted"! Thank you, my friend! Peace, Hugh

After a way-too-long time, (so many things have occurred these last few weeks, that to even write about it all would probably take a day or even two, just in itself!) I finally bid a kindly tip of the hat and a friendly "Hello" back to you, mon ami, 私の友人, mein freund, my friend!

Also, It's quite interesting, as in "hmmm, I wonder... " kind of interesting that you should say that you "still have problems to upload images on hosting and post on the Jimbo's site", because me too! Of course, with ME, it's not just Jimbo's, where I've been having problems. For ME, it's been like that just trying to upload anything. Although I'm thinking I MAY have the problem figured out: I'm going to have to try doing it when I know no-one else will be sharing the "band-width" with me, even more so, because I'm further "up-stream", so that when someone else is on my "local network" (which, because there's teens & preteens at my nieghbor's means that there is almost always at least one person "on" at any given time, at least during the "waking hours") it sllllooowwwwsssss wayyyyy dowwwwwwnnnnnn..., making it impossible to work with the higher resolutions & larger file sizes that I prefer to work with: To make each image "large" enough so that one can print it, and have it look like an actual photo, rather than that out-of-focus-and-all-pixle-ated-like! That is why I appreciate it so much when you send me one of your gorgeous pics in all it's high-rez glory... And in particular your's, with your close attention to detail! It is also such a nice surprise to see what branch of which service of what country of what time-period you end up choosing to portray (although, I know that you know which period is MY personal favorite.) But, don't get me wrong: I also dig it when you throw everyone for a loop with something quite different from the ones proceeding and following this particular scene that you would currently be revealing to the world...

Besides, I can see in your work that you enjoy the challenge of creating weapons & uniforms & vehicles & insignia from different eras, making every element exact in every detal, down to the "brass buttons"!

But, you must please forgive me, my friend, I have been told that "at times, I can tend to "ramble on" with conversation sometimes. (believe it or not.)

Although in THIS case, these all were things that were, I felt important things, it's just that it may have taken me so much longer to SAY them, is all.

... or something like that!

ANYWAY, regarding my e-mail address, I think that I'm going to try & send it to you in a "Note". If that doesn't work, I'll "meet you" back here, in another e-mail, either way, I can't wait to see this pic "untainted", as it were, & in her full glory!

And I must say, that you certainly have my curiosity piqued, from when we were talking about a possible ME-262 pilot in our future... That IS what you were hinting at, right? If true, oh my, oh my... I'm trying to find words.... (Believe it or not!)

I'm going to try the note thing, now, talk to you later, Riguel, & thanks again for all the lovely posts- THIS one is certainly "up there", among some of my many "faves" of yours. As some WW2 poster might've said: "Keep 'em Flying!" Over & Out.

Hugh

Hello Hugh, glad to hear from you and thank you for the new offer as much reading your last reply
About my "pin up", beyond the obvious inspiration from classic artists such as Elvgren and Vargas or contemporary Bawidamann, my goal was to make me happy in dealing with subjects that I love: The army, guns, girls ... And not necessarily in that order. The period of the 2nd World War was the obvious topic because of the rich contexts and equipment to stage my girls. But inspiration is a woman who is sometimes hard to woo, and if the modern uniforms offer less aesthetic choices, the profusion of different weapons is a real happiness. In all cases, and I repeat myself, despite my attention to small details I do not mean a realization concerning the historical reality but something nice and sexy oscillating between the classic pin-up, and the board of Osprey Uniforms . Voila, voila ... I must be careful, otherwise I can become as talkative as you my friend
With regard to a project "about" the Me 262, I work to create a uniform that does not look like too has one I did for "Galland's Sister". One thing with leather that does more "jet fighter" pilot ... To be continued here!
A bientôt mon pote.

A suivre ici même!
A bientôt mon pote

Is this a SS-Helferin jacket + Waffen-SS camo pants?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Riguel3d In reply to Valkyrja-Skuld [2010-03-21 14:06:49 +0000 UTC]

No, the top is a regular panzer jacket worn so relaxed with a kind of Winterarnabzug camo trousers as was practiced from time to time in the SS.
Anyway, this image has no history value...
