First aircraft of the day, a Ryanair 737 coming from Bergamo, Italy.Also, a beautiful sunrise to encourage us ground handlers

Just read an Airliners.net forum that said Ryanair was somehow awarded ten slots at Charles De Gaulle airport... Don't really know how that happened, but it should be interesting to see what happens.

True, 15 slots actually. They'r trying to get closer to big cities, since BVA is 80km from Paris.
But I'm sure the routes opened at CDG will bring down BVA demand, unfortunately.

I was kind of surprised they weren't awarded any slots at Paris Orly (ORY), especially how its much closer to the city center than Charles De Gaulle. Though I can't say I'm surprised they're going to CDG, what with that low cost terminal there.

ORY is crowded and lots of Low-cost companies there on the same routes as Ryanair. The airport developpement is very very limited since it's totally surrounded by a dense-populated area and it's closed from 23pm to 6am. They'r also doing a total overhaul of the two terminals and for so, have closed a lot of aircraft parking spots and boarding gates, reducing traffic capacity. I think things will stay like that until 2017.
CDG has no limits at all, and it's very well connected to Paris Center and any other main city by air/rail/road. ORY only has a rail station and it's very expensive (7 euros for a 5 minutes trip by rail, pretty expensive compare to 14 euros for a 1h bus trip to go to BVA).
As I'm working at BVA, I hope one of these days Ryanair will finally establish a base there, this will pretty much save our jobs, against ORY or CDG ^^
