My character for Samurai Duelers League.Took me forever to come up with a color scheme i liked..and im still on the fence about this one.. I plan on uploading a more in depth Ref sheet for him later this week. And maybe one colored differently..
He's basically a redesign of [link] from my manga Dark Gift. I guess he could be considered the alternate universe version..or even his ancestor.
But I wanted to submit a different style character since it could be from any country as long as the time period focused on feudal Japan era. (Ignore the snazzy shades, purely for style

ok just thought of something i shoulda asked cause i've been wondering seein yours and other peoples photo shoped colored pics. do you use just see the mouse to color it or do you hae one of those like digital drawing pads thats like drawing on the computer if that makes sense

this is so tight the design the weapon, the lion holy shit. i need to stop lookin at this makin me depresesd. quick question if you don't mind. did you use photoshop to do this or that manga studio ex i saw? and im an aspiring artist so maybe can't draw as sick as you but i ope too one day so would you reccomend getini both photo and maga or is manga just fine without photo?

Hey thanks for the compliments man! As for your questions, I mainly used Photoshop for this. I draw it on paper then scan it in. Then color in PS. Only time I might use Manga studio, is for comic effects. i.e. speed, focus lines etc. But rarely for anything else. It all depends on what your comfortable with honestly.

might just be me but when i read his name alloud
i said "Sho Nuff fo real" I know it was me being dyslexic... Love the design and his design is tight. He also remind me of Wilt Chamberlin from his roll in Chinese Connection I believe it was.

If this guy isn't my favorite SDL character - which he may well be - then he's darn close. He's simply awesome on every level ... I could go into the details, but I think that says it all

He kinda reminds me of Ninja Ninja from Afro Samurai, but a lot more serious, cool and with an actual weapon.

well this is just magnificent. the colors came out great, though if you aren't sattisfied, don't stop til you are. the weapon and everything is just too cool.

What a great idea - an African battle character. I always wanted to do a tribal-style character, but I could never do any better than you. I love the lion's head on his shoulder and his whole character design. It just fits...so...perfectly. Wonderful job!
