Description
Is Colorization even a word?Anyway, the great drew this most-excellent drawing and I felt it was just begging for color. With the Capt'n's permission (of course) I went ahead and colored this. Now I realize there is probably some sort of canon color scheme for this guy, unfortuantly I have no clue what that should be....sooo I just kinda colored it however I felt would look cool. As you can probably tell, I like Orange and Red.
Surprisingly enough, I actually learned something while coloring this, so I'm glad I did it.
Please note the edges are unfinished, this is intentional. I thought it looked neat while I was airbrushing the background color in, so I left it that way.
Overall, I'm reasonably pleased with how this came out, it looks nice and vivid.
Thanks for the kickin' lineart Captain!

Hey, that's cool! I like the addition of colour, especially the lighting effects for the eyes and those bands on his arms.
Suggestion: You've probably noticed that in certain places the colour doesn't quite line up with the edge of the lines when you use the fill tool, this is called a filling artifact. To deal with it, you can adjust the fill tool tolerance and (if you use Paint Shop Pro) use Adjust > Noise > Edge Preserving Smooth. I'm sure other graphics programs have equivalent features.
I'm digging the funky colour scheme - definitely, if you're not sure then choose whatever you like! If you're interested in seeing his original colours, you can check out [link]

Actually, any artifacts you see are due to sheer lazyness and/or inattention to detail on my part, since I colored the entire thing with the air/brush tool in Photoshop. Thanks for the suggestion though, I'll keep that in mind for the future since the artifacts are part of the reason I got annoyed with the fill tool.

Yep, I went through that learning-curve myself. The fill tool isn't immediately the time-saver you initially think it'll be. But with a bit of practice and playing with settings, it becomes just as good as you first hoped.
